Congress Has Forgotten Who Their Boss Is

The US Congress is comprised of two legislative bodies – The House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representatives is the House of the People. The Senate is the House of the States.

Members of the House of Representatives are referred to as Congressmen/ Congresswomen. They work for the People of the state they represent. Every Congressman/Congresswoman has four (4) bosses, in the following order:

  1. Their constituents – the people who live in their Congressional District, not just the people of their political party, but ALL of the people in their district, the people to whom they have sworn an oath to represent.

  2. The rest of the people who live in their state. Again, not just the people of their political party – ALL of the people.

  3. Their state.

  4. The United States.

Members of the Senate are referred to as Senators. They work for the state which they represent. Every Senator has three (3) bosses, in the following order:

  1. Their State

  2. The people who live in their state, not just the people of their political party, but ALL of the people.

  3. The United States.

Notice that in both cases, the United States is LAST in the order of who these elected officials represent.

Congressmen/Congresswomen and Senators do NOT work for the Federal Government – they ARE the federal government – and the Federal Government exist solely to serve the states and the people.

Congressmen/Congresswomen and Senators are the Servants of the People and of the states. They are sent to Washington DC to do the will of the people and the states that they represent.

They do NOT work for: Lobbyists, Special Interest Groups, PACS, Corporations, Foreign Entities, the United Nations, or any other individual, group or organization.

Sadly, Congress has forgotten, or more likely ignores, these facts. They no longer represent the people or the states – they represent their own interests and the interests of those who help keep them in power.

They believe they are the masters and the people are their servants, or worse, their slaves. And they believe that We the People are beholding to them.

As their current actions show, they are ignoring the will of the people and proceeding ahead with a rash of bad legislation, not because the people or the states want it but because they want it.

They don’t give a damn about the implications of their actions or what the impact of their actions will be on this country.

In fact, in their race to irrelevance, they have literally labeled half of the population of the United States “domestic terrorists” and declared that the US needs to be “cleansed of Trump supporters”.

It is time for We the People to remind Congress who their boss is and return Congress to being a servant of the people and the states.
